Upcoming Events Planned for New Zealand in 2012!

IAP2 run two types of activities in NZ. Within the three regions a small committee of local members run networking events (every month to six weeks) at minimal cost open to members and the wider public participation community. The Certificate Program, and other training events are run from our Melbourne based Secretariat who handle all registration and enquiries.

TRAINING

The IAP2 Certificate Training Program is available in Auckland in 2012.
The training program was developed to meet the needs of IAP2 members. IAP2 trainers worked with practitioners from around the world to develop foundational tools that transcend national and cultural boundaries. Even advanced practitioners will find useful techniques to assist in working with the public and clients to establish effective public participation programs.

All three courses are presented in an experiential learning environment that provides students with the opportunity to explore their own public participation challenges with their instructor and peers. Interactive exercises and practical tips are used to enliven the basic theory and reference materials presented throughout each module and reinforce skills that participants can put to immediate use.

IAP2 is delivering the Emotion, Outrage and Public Participation course in Auckland!

Building on IAP2's internationally recognised best practices in public participation, and the work of Dr Peter Sandman, an expert in risk and crisis communication, this new course looks at emotion and outrage and how to identify and address these factors in public participation programs. This is the course for any practitioner dealing with the key issues facing our communities at this time.
