Resources
IAP2 has a wealth of resources available to assist organisations, decision makers, policy makers and practitioners to improve the quality of their community engagement work. The following resources are available from the public section of the web site. IAP2 members have access to a wider range of resources as can be seen below.
IAP2 Core Values
As an international leader in public participation, IAP2 has developed the "IAP2 Core Values for Public Participation" for use in the development and implementation of public participation processes.
These Core Values were developed over a two year period with broad international input to identify those aspects of public participation which cross national, cultural, and religious boundaries.
IAP2 Spectrum
IAP2's Public Participation Spectrum is designed to assist with the selection of the level of participation that defines the public's role in any community engagement program. The Spectrum show that differing level of participation are legitimate depending on the goals, time frames, resources and levels of concern in the decision to be made. However, and most importantly, the Spectrum sets out the promise being made to the public at each participation level. The Spectrum is widely used and is quoted in most community engagement manuals.

IAP2 issues an email newsletter to everyone on its mailing list on a monthly basis. If you would like to receive the newsletter, you simply need to click on the sign up button on the home page of this website. You can find back copies of the newsletter in this resources section.
United Nations Declaration on Community Engagement
IAP2 Australasia was very excited to be involved in the drafting of the UN Declaration on Community Engagement. A draft of the Declaration was developed in the lead up to the International Conference on Engaging Communities held in Brisbane 14 - 17 August 2005. It was reviewed and revised to reflect the feedback from the community of practitioners, academics, policy advisers, government and citizens who responded to a questionnaire. Importantly, there were also a number of deliberative sessions on the Declaration held during the conference. Feedback from these sessions has been incorporated into the final version of the Declaration.
